Operations Director
The Client:
My client is a leading and financially secure main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex refurbishment and construction projects across London and the UK. With a long-standing presence in the market, they have built their success on repeat business, negotiated work and long-term client relationships.
Operating across a range of sectors including commercial workplace, education and healthcare sector, the business specialises in technically challenging projects, many of which are delivered within occupied and live environments where programme management, stakeholder engagement and meticulous planning are essential. Following a continued steady growth and a strong secured pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an Operations Director to play a key role in the business.
The Role
You will take overall responsibility for a division and manage the operational performance of multiple live projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest standards.
This is a strategic leadership position, requiring someone capable of driving operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership across the delivery function.
- Overseeing a portfolio of complex projects across London.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
- Leading and developing Project Directors, Project Managers and delivery teams.
- Driving commercial performance, including P&L responsibility, CVR reviews, margin protection and forecasting.
- Working closely with pre-construction teams on two-stage and negotiated opportunities.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, consultants and stakeholders.
- Supporting business growth through operational planning and continuous improvement.
About You
- Proven experience delivering cut & carve projects valued at £30m+, while successfully managing multiple live schemes simultaneously.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing operational performance and financial accountability.
- A track record of working closely with both project delivery and pre-construction teams.
- Credible at board and client level, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Calm, collaborative and solutions-focused, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Suitable for an established Operations Director or a high-performing Project Director looking to step into an operational leadership role.
Salary & Package
- Up to £175,000 basic salary (All depending on experience & the candidates current salary.)
