Our client is one the UK’s leading M&E Contractors specialising in delivering high-quality services across a range of sectors, including commercial, industrial, healthcare, residential projects and many more. ABOUT THE ROLES
Internal Department:
 
This position will take on the responsibilities of overseeing the joint ventures between the main contractor and our client (they are a group, which means there will need to be communication across the parties to ensure a smooth project overall). This is an opportunity to work closely with both the M&E Subcontractor and Main Contractor to ensure the M&E deliverables and programmes are set in stone. This position is looking for someone to hold their ground whilst in communication with the Main Contractor on project specifications & deadlines. Values range anywhere from £70m +.
External Department:
 
This position will take on the responsibilities of managing their external clients and projects coming through to our client directly. This position offers the opportunity to work across the board on various sectors, clients and types of projects. This position will cover planning from a national perspective with their individual turnover sitting at £400m – this planning manager will be looking after project values anywhere from £40m - £70m on a mix of newbuild, refurb & fitout projects.
RESPONSIBILTIES
Prepare and issue protocols and guidelines to ensure consistency of planning approach across the Business Unit
Manage production of and carry out peer reviews and programme audits
Produce summary business reports, based on audits and Monthly Reports, and suggest corrective action to manage risks and provide mitigation for delays on audit findings.
Leading and overseeing a team of 7+ planners (internal & external) on medium to large projects whilst ensuring successful planning and delivery of project timelines.
M&E planning, monitoring and reporting on large complex projects or a number of smaller projects within a leading management position.
Develop and co-ordinate services work sequences including interfaces between construction, M&E and commissioning, services installation, procurement and design.
Understanding the project requirements including client brief & business processes.
Identifying, managing, and mitigating risk, including programme risk.
Liaising with internal/external stakeholders and client regarding project progress and any arising issues within the ongoing projects.
Review and integrate specialist sub-contractors’ programmes to ensure project specifications have been met.
Take responsibility for the management of the programme through preconstruction and construction stages in line with company procedures, alongside organising and chairing programme meetings with the project and sub-contractor teams.
Maintaining a professional approach with clients and their professional teams, sub-contractors and suppliers.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
A background within M&E building contracting - you will have a strong knowledge of construction processes and sequences together with a strong commercial understanding of contracts, procurement routes and risk management.
Experience in M&E Planning & Management in a senior position.
A strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services techniques, methods, processes and standards with the ability to work within an integrated multi-disciplined team.
Multiple sectors & major project experience.
