My client is an established and financially stable refurbishment contractor with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects. The business has built its reputation on carefully managed projects within the Fit Out but most importantly Refurbishment sector, working within existing, often live environments where programme control and stakeholder management are critical.

Operating primarily across London and the South East, the company delivers projects within the commercial workplace sector, alongside education, healthcare and selected public sector schemes.

The business has experienced consistent, controlled growth in all its years trading and is expanding steadily, supported by a secure pipeline and long-standing client relationships.

The contractor specialises in large scale complex refurbishment and reconfiguration projects, including CAT A and CAT B upgrades, landlord works and full building repositioning schemes. A key strength lies in delivering within occupied buildings, where technical coordination, logistics and communication are essential. With strong in-house pre-construction and delivery teams, the business engages early in the process to manage risk, develop buildable solutions and maintain commercial certainty throughout the lifecycle of each scheme.

Operations Director Role:

The Operations Director will take overall responsibility for the delivery function across multiple refurbishment projects, ensuring schemes are delivered safely, on programme and to margin.

This is a senior leadership role within a stable but steadily growing contractor, requiring both operational oversight and strategic input as the business continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee a portfolio of live refurbishment projects across London and the South East
•  Lead and mentor Project Directors, Project Managers and site team
• Take ownership of programme performance, margin protection and risk mitigation
• Work closely with Pre-Construction to review tenders, resource planning and delivery strategy
• Drive consistency in operational standards, reporting and governance
• Build and maintain senior client relationships
• Support the Board with business planning, growth strategy and recruitment

Salary & Package:

Competitive, attractive salary up to £170k (Plus comprehensive package and performance-related bonus)
