Headquartered in Ireland, the business provides turnkey solutions from design through to construction and commissioning, delivering major data centre projects across Europe. With a strong reputation within the sector and a growing portfolio of technically demanding projects, they are recognised as a leading name in European data centre delivery. They are now seeking an experienced EHS Advisor to join a major data centre project in Dublin. This is a site-based position offering the opportunity to work within a highly professional project environment and gain valuable experience on large-scale, technically complex infrastructure.
The Role
As an EHS Advisor, you will support the Project Management team, Site EHS Manager and EHS Lead in maintaining the highest standards of Environmental, Health & Safety performance across the project. You will have a strong presence on site, working closely with project teams and subcontractors to ensure compliance, identify risks and promote a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Management team, Site EHS Manager and EHS Lead with day-to-day EHS requirements.
- Ensure adherence to the project and company Safety Management System.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Environmental, Health & Safety legislation and statutory requirements.
- Support the implementation of project EHS plans.
- Review method statements, risk assessments, Safe Plans of Action and permit-to-work systems.
- Monitor compliance with the Project Execution Plan.
- Promote and maintain good safety practices across the project.
- Conduct ongoing COSHH assessments and monitor the control of hazardous substances.
- Ensure safety interventions are recorded and effectively closed out.
- Carry out regular site audits and inspections, documenting findings and following up on corrective actions.
- Maintain records of statutory inspections for project activities, tools and plant.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying and managing project EHS requirements.
- Ensure project subcontractors comply with project and company EHS policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and maintain site EHS inductions and training.
- Compile and deliver toolbox talks as required.
- Assist with or lead accident investigations and ensure timely reporting to the project management team.
- Ensure welfare and hygiene facilities are appropriately maintained.
- Attend daily activity briefings and whiteboard meetings.
- Support waste reduction and recycling programmes in line with project policies and procedures.
You will ideally have:
- A relevant third-level degree qualification in Health & Safety.
- 3+ years` experience working on large construction sites.
- Strong knowledge of current Environmental, Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience with site inspections, audits, RAMS, permits, COSHH and incident investigations.
- Experience monitoring subcontractor compliance.
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider project team.
- Flexibility around working patterns where required.
- A proactive and practical approach to managing EHS issues on site.
Important Candidate Requirements
- Irish construction experience is essential.
- Candidates must currently be based in Ireland and have relevant experience working within the Irish construction industry.
- The client is specifically looking for candidates with strong Irish/EU construction experience. Candidates whose experience is solely within the UAE, Middle East or other non-EU markets will not be considered.
- Construction experience is essential, and candidates coming solely from other industries will not be suitable.
- The client is looking for stable, permanent candidates and will not consider contractors or self-employed candidates for this position.
