Commissioning Manager

The Opportunity

We`re working with a leading international engineering contractor that is delivering some of Europe`s most advanced mission critical projects.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning delivery on a flagship hyperscale data centre in Norway.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the complete commissioning lifecycle, working alongside the client, consultants and specialist subcontractors to ensure one of Europe`s most technically challenging facilities is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

If you`ve led commissioning on large-scale mission critical projects and enjoy taking projects from design review through Integrated Systems Testing and final handover, we`d love to speak with you.

The Role

Reporting into the Project Director, you`ll be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of all commissioning activities across the project.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing the overall commissioning strategy and programme.
• Managing mechanical, electrical, controls and integrated systems commissioning.
• Reviewing designs to ensure systems are fully testable, operable and maintainable.
• Producing commissioning procedures, scripts and test documentation.
• Leading Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Functional Performance Testing (FPT) and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Managing specialist commissioning engineers, subcontractors and vendors.
• Coordinating client witnessing, demonstrations and final handover.
• Ensuring all commissioning documentation and turnover packages are completed to the highest standard.
• Driving quality, safety and technical excellence throughout the commissioning process.

About You

We`re looking for someone who has:

• 10+ years` commissioning experience within mission critical environments.
• Previous experience as a Commissioning Manager on large-scale data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of both mechanical and electrical building services.
• Extensive experience leading Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working for a General Contractor, EPC contractor or specialist commissioning business.
• A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.

Technical Experience

Experience with any of the following would be highly advantageous:

• Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC)
• Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs)
• Chilled water systems
• HVAC and heat rejection systems
• UPS systems
• MV/LV electrical infrastructure
• Generators
• BMS, EPMS and SCADA
• Critical power infrastructure
• Data centre resilience and failover testing
