The Opportunity
A leading UK construction and development business is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major c.£100m commercial refurbishment and cut & carve project in London.
The business delivers complex construction, refurbishment and development projects across the UK, with a strong reputation for technically challenging schemes and high-quality delivery.
The Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team across key packages on the project, working closely with the Project QS, Senior QS and wider project team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the management of subcontract packages from procurement through to final account.
- Assisting with valuations, variations, applications and cost reporting.
- Supporting subcontract procurement and commercial negotiations.
- Monitoring costs, risks, opportunities and change.
- Assisting with forecasting and commercial reporting.
- Working closely with the project delivery team, subcontractors and consultants.
- Ensuring commercial processes and reporting are maintained throughout the project.
About You
We`re looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a main contracting background and experience across commercial refurbishment, fit-out, redevelopment or complex construction projects.
You should have a good understanding of core quantity surveying principles and be keen to develop your commercial experience on a large and technically challenging project.
Experience working on projects involving existing structures or complex refurbishment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
