QS to work on fire remediation projects:

1. Fire remediation experience- Experience with cladding, fire stopping, compartmentation, fire doors, cavity barriers, façade remediation, or EWS1-related works.
2. Scope development & budgeting - Ability to develop a scope of remedial works from limited information, prepare budget estimates, document assumptions, and refine costs as surveys and opening-up information become available.
3. Tendering & procurement - Ability to compile robust tender packages, manage the tender process, analyse returns, negotiate commercially, and place subcontract orders.
4. Variation management - Ability to identify, value, negotiate and recover variations arising from design changes, latent defects, and additional remedial works.
5. Commercial reporting - confident preparation of CVRs, cost reports, forecasts, final account projections and management reporting.
6. Specialist subcontractor management - Experience procuring and managing fire protection, passive fire, façade, cladding, and remediation subcontractors.
7. Contractual knowledge - Strong understanding of JCT, NEC, subcontract forms, compensation events, notices, change control and commercial entitlement.
8. Risk management - Ability to identify commercial and delivery risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
9. Forecasting & cashflow control - good understanding of cost-to-complete forecasting, project cashflow management, contingency allowances and final account forecasting.
10. Independent project delivery - Proven ability to run projects from feasibility/procurement through to final account with minimal supervision.
11. Attention to detail & record keeping - Maintaining robust variation registers, risk registers, procurement trackers, cost records and supporting evidence for audits and claims
