The DfMA Engineer is an integral member of the DfMA team, providing technical support across both bid stage activities and live project delivery. The role contributes throughout the project lifecycle by developing, assessing and optimising modular MEP solutions that drive efficiency, value, buildability and sustainability.
Working on multiple projects at any one time, the successful candidate will maintain clear, consistent and pro-active communication with all project stakeholders to ensure alignment at every stage of the process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide technical support to the wider pre-construction and bid teams
· Review project information, drawings, reports and specifications to identify optimal modular opportunities
· Prepare and raise RFIs to clarify project requirements and remove ambiguity
· Develop and strategize modular solutions aligned with project constraints and client objectives
· Produce costings for DfMA strategies in collaboration with estimating and bid-support teams.
· Challenge conventional thinking and propose creative, value driven modular concepts
· Review and feed into structural, architectural and MEP consultant designs to enable efficient and optimal modular installations.
· Review, comment on and provide guidance for modular framework designs
· Produce technical submissions that support project approvals and compliance requirements
· Prepare structural analysis information packs to support design validation
· Review structural analysis outputs and provide comment
· Maintain an awareness of steelwork sizing, material availability and cost implications
· Review turnkey package designs to ensure alignment with DfMA strategies and project principles
· Ensure clear communication and information flow between all parties involved in module design, manufacture and installation
· Raise lessons learned
· Review module installations inline with structural verification reports to ensure compliance
· Interface management throughout entire process
