MEP Lead – Data Centre Projects (Iberia)

A leading European data centre delivery contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Lead to join its growing team in Iberia.

The organisation specialises in turnkey data centre delivery across Europe and is currently delivering multiple hyperscale projects across 7 European countries, representing over 430MW of IT load in flight.The MEP Lead will be responsible for managing and coordinating all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities across the full project lifecycle — from design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate MEP services across design, construction, and commissioning phases
• Manage and support the MEP project team, including subcontractors, engineers, and supervisors
• Oversee technical reviews, quality inspections, and progress reporting
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and company procedures
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and key project stakeholders
• Review and approve MEP design documentation, technical submittals, and method statements
• Identify and resolve design or construction issues to maintain programme momentum
• Drive commissioning readiness and ensure smooth handover of all MEP systems
• Support planning, forecasting, and progress tracking to achieve key milestones

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in large-scale construction or data centre projects with strong MEP focus
• Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong understanding of design coordination, MEP systems, and installation methodologies
• Experience on data centre, industrial, or mission-critical projects highly desirable
