Planning Lead

Reports to: Regional Planning Lead

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Planning Lead to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading project planning activities across multiple large-scale construction projects, ensuring effective scheduling, resource management, and project control from pre-construction through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop bid programmes to support and complement tender submissions
  • Develop, maintain, and review detailed master construction programmes and project control procedures for live projects
  • Work closely with Project Directors and site teams to establish and maintain effective planning strategies
  • Prepare and present progress reviews to senior management
  • Support business development activities with new clients
  • Liaise with stakeholders to review project progress, identify risks, and proactively solve problems
  • Create and maintain schedules for pre-construction, construction, and commissioning phases
  • Establish and monitor project schedule resource requirements across multiple projects
  • Develop and communicate tools to ensure effective achievement of project milestones
  • Provide performance updates and reports, identifying variances and corrective actions
  • Act as Planning representative in Client and Subcontractor meetings
  • Lead, mentor, and develop planning team members; prioritise workloads and delegate effectively

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience in the construction industry (main contractor experience preferred)
  • Strong experience with programming software and BIM (Asta Powerproject and Primavera P6 preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience on large-scale projects (value €50M+)
  • Excellent organisational, communication, leadership, and time management skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers
