The Role
The business is seeking an experienced Joinery Estimator to join its commercial team, supporting the joinery and fit-out division. This role will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for bespoke joinery and interior fit-out packages on major UK projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for bespoke joinery and interior fit-out packages
- Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Take-off quantities and produce bills of quantities where required
- Source and obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Evaluate tender risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Collaborate with internal teams including commercial, design, and operations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and supply chain partners
- Assist in tender submissions and presentations
- Support handover of secured projects to delivery teams
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within joinery or interior fit-out
- Strong understanding of bespoke joinery manufacturing and installation
- Experience working with main contractors or specialist subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
Desirable
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or laboratory fit-out projects
- Knowledge of multiple interior trades (drywall, ceilings, washrooms)
- Relevant construction or commercial qualifications
