Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

About Us
Our client is a growing specialist contractor in architectural metalwork, delivering high-quality balconies, balustrades, staircases, and cladding projects across London. With turnover reaching £7m last year and ambitious plans to grow to £10–12m, we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
The Role
We’re seeking an energetic, motivated Quantity Surveyor who’s eager to learn and take ownership. This isn’t a role for someone who wants to wait years to climb the ladder - you’ll be directly involved in running multiple projects, learning how a specialist contracting business operates, and working closely with the board.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing and overseeing multiple projects at any one time up to £2m
- Handling cashflow, valuations, chasing payments, and preparing business reports
- Conducting site surveys and liaising with clients
- Supporting the small works division and ensuring commercial success
- Negotiating with main contractors
- Learning every aspect of specialist contracting from the ground up
What We’re Looking For
- A QS with a 2+ experience - ideally in specialist contracting
- Based near Colchester spending several days a week in head office as well as visiting sites in London (travel expensed)
- Personable, detail-oriented, commercially aware, and driven to succeed
- Happy to get involved in all areas of the business
- Flexible - can join as permanent (£40k–£50k) or freelance/day rate (with travel expenses covered)
