Client: Our client is a nationally renowned M&E Contractor who turnover in excess of £250M. With numerous offices throughout the country their client base ranges from end users to large main contractors, including: Kier, Morgan Sindall, Wates and Carillion. They specialise in technically challenging projects within the Datacentre, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Residential and R&D sectors. Following the appointment on a major project in Suffolk, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Construction Manager.
Role: Mechanical Construction Manager – Suffolk – Day Rate £325 - £375 per day (CIS)
Reporting to a Lead Project Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a £80m M&E package within their own discipline. Key to this role is managing the project at site level; ensuring it is completed on time, to a high quality and within budget.
Role/Responsibilities:
· Design Review (scope gaps / clashes)
· Short term programming.
· Health & Safety (RAMS).
· Technical Submissions.
· Preparation/issuing all RFI.
· Sub-contractor coordination.
· Management of commissioning stages
· Liaising with client team, main contractor and sub-contractors
· Progress meetings with sub-contractors, professional teams and client
The ideal candidate:
· Progressed from a tools background and have good technical knowledge of mechanical services.
· Experience working in the commercial sector
· Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5M within your own discipline
· A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
· Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Sir Robert McAlpine, ISg, Mace, Wates, etc.
