M&E Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £50,000 - £75,0000 + Package

THE CLIENT:

Our client is an established UK M&E contractor delivering complete Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health solutions across a range of sectors. Established in the early 2000`s , they`ve grown into a specialist MEP contractor delivering projects across the UK, with a strong focus on technical delvery, sustainability and collaborative project delivery.

The business works across Commercial, Residential, Data Centres, Healthcare & Science, Education, Hospitality and Leisure, with a portfolio ranging from large-scale residential developments and commercial refurbishments through to technically demanding data centre and healthcare projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, our client is now looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor.

Working closely with the wider commercial and project delivery teams, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of allocated M&E projects, supporting the business throughout the project lifecycle from procurement through to final account.

As an M&E Quantity Surveyor you will:

• Take commercial responsibility for allocated M&E projects and packages.
• Manage the commercial lifecycle from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare and manage valuations, applications for payment and cost reporting.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow and commercial performance.
• Manage variations, change control and commercial risks throughout the project.
• Procure and manage subcontractor and supplier packages.
• Review and negotiate subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
• Produce accurate commercial reports, forecasts and cost/value information.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Engineers and the wider commercial team.
• Attend client, subcontractor and project meetings as required.
• Identify commercial opportunities and ensure additional works are captured and recovered.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key project stakeholders.

IDEAL BACKGROUND:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within an M&E / MEP contracting environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Experience across procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Commercially aware with good contractual and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage your own projects/packages and work closely with operational teams.
• Experience working for an M&E subcontractor would be highly advantageous.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying / Construction qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
