Testing Manager
Salary: £350 - £450 per day Permanent Essex

One of London’s oldest contracting businesses trading over 100 years, our client are an industry recognised brand having delivered some of the UK’s and London’s most Iconic projects.  They hold a very strong portfolio and track record of delivering major Data Centre schemes as both GC and MEP Subcontractor.  Five core services areas are Engineering Services, Technologies, Infrastructure, Residential and Hotels, Facilities Management.

 

Holding its Engineering values in high regard, they are the go-to contractor for major projects due to their unique model which maintains holding a large core of direct workforce and skilled Engineering and management teams.

The Electrical Testing Manager is responsible for the performance of the electrical testing team, inspection, and troubleshooting on a major Data Centre. This is the opportunity to work on a flagship project and work for one of the UK’s leading M&E contractors.  As the manager you will ensure your team of AP’s and testers conduct various tests and inspections, interpret results, identify issues, and recommend appropriate corrective actions. As well as ensuring both in house and outsourced engineers are setup safely and keeping to the process of the client. They key to this role is to be process driven, proactive and technically sound

.

Role/Responsibilities

  • Design Review (scope gaps / clashes)
  • Short term programming.
  • Health & Safety (RAMS).
  • Preparation/issuing all RFI.
  • Issuing permits of works
  • QA/QC
  • Trouble shooting
  • Document test procedures, results and recommendations
  • Provide technical support
  • Testing and commissioning of equipment
  • Liaising with client team, main contractor and sub-contractors
  • Progress meetings with sub-contractors, professional teams and client

 

The ideal candidate

  • Have a 2391 City & Guilds
  • Authorised Person certificates
  • 18th Edition
  • Experience working on Data Centre or Critical Environment Projects
  • Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5M
  • A minimum 2 years’ experience in an management role
  • The candidate will show longevity in previous employment
