Having been established for over 30 years our client has come to be recognised as a market leading M&E contractor within the UK. Key to their success is their innovative engineering solutions and delivery first approach. Their experience ranges from small work contracts circa £500k to major projects in excess of £40M, covering commercial offices, science and datacentre sectors.

Their order book for 2024 and 2025 is secured and with some exciting projects in the pipeline they are looking to recruit to for their ever growing operations team

They are seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead the Electrical element on a fast and complex project in Oxford. Based in an ever growing science park, this scheme is a £30m MEP scheme on a new build laboratory and pharma space.

Preconstruction has begun with the install beginning around Q2 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to take the project from pre-construction through to handover. Key to this role is relationship management, team coordination and project reporting. The position will be supported by a team of engineers, construction managers and supervisors

Role & Responsibilities

• Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
• Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
• Technical submittals
• RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
• Value Engineering where applicable
• Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
• Health & Safety management (RAMs)
• Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey.
• Management of variations
• Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
• Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
• Overseeing commissioning stages
• Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover

The Ideal Candidate

• Will be familiar working in a fast pace environment
• Experience working in the commercial sector
• Experience managing projects to a minimum of £6M within your own discipline
• A minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior management role
• Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as ISg, Lend Lease, Sir Robert McAlpine and Mace.
• The candidate will show longevity in previous employment
