Senior Electrical Engineer - Dresden - Germany

Senior Electrical Engineer– Location: Dresden Germany  – Salary up to  Euro 100,000.00 plus accommodation and package

The Project:

The project we are currently recruiting on is a New build semi-conductor project in the Dresden Area in Germany, valued circa 200 Million Euros, working with the main contractor to deliver the electrical package of works.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the coordination of the Electrical package from technical, design aspects and procurement aspects of the project through to delivery and handover.

Upon the the successful management of design stage and pre construction the successful candidate will then move into a project management role. In this position you will be reporting to the Project Director and be responsible for the delivery of the Electrical Services.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Review of the estimate / tender for the Electrical project elements, in conjunction with the project team, to fully determine and understand the conditions, requirements, deliverables, risks and liabilities of the works, as defined and awarded by the client.
• Manage development of Electrical design in accordance with the Client/Project brief, contract, legislation, planning, building regulations, technical requirements, budget, and programme. Ensuring the clients are interests are protected.
• Establish a productive working relationship with the client, on all Electrical installation responsibilities, concerning design and co-ordination activities and develop contract/project opportunities.
• Ensure the efficient production of Electrical project engineering through to installation, in accordance with project conditions and requirements,
• Ensure the efficient operation of project procurement, mechanical plant, material, kit; control and costing policies and procedures. You will also aid and assist in producing accurate and current project procurement schedules, and cost reports for senior project management.
• Assessment and organisation of the Electrical resources required to execute the project in a safe, efficient and profitable manner.
• Communication to project team members of all information, including: project contractual conditions, specifications, drawings and working instructions for the execution of the project.
• Ensure the safe and efficient execution of Electrical project installations and procedures, both on and off site.
• Supervision and motivation of project team members, including training and development, throughout the project.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of the latest German technical regulations, codes of practice and compliance with specifications is mandatory

• Have experience working on large technically challenging projects, as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Completed university studies in the field of engineering, or comparable qualification through technical training with several years of professional experience
• >10 years of professional experience in planning engineering electrical engineering
• Proficient with PC programs and MS Office applications
• Knowledge of specialist designs and calculations, e.g.
• Lighting calculations (DIALUX, Relux). lighting and security lighting
• Planning of cable laying systems (Ladders, Trays, etc.)
• Planning of bus bar systems incl. Junction boxes for power distribution
• Lightning protection and surge protection
• Safety power supply (Emergency generators /UPS-Systems)
• Integration of ATEX explosion protection requirements in the corresponding systems
• Ability to work in a team, initiative and commitment as well as a high degree of flexibility (Willingness to travel, short trips to vendor for FAT’s etc)
• Providing guidance, sharing knowledge, and giving support to the electrical team, to allow them to expand their capabilities and experience
• Proficient in English spoken written and comprehension
• Fluency in German is an advantage but not a strict requirement
