The Client

Our client is a leading player in the London Construction market working across Major Commercial Schemes, Life Sciences and Data Centre Projects. They have also been involved in state of the art sports centres across the UK. They have a strong team of over 20 Building Services Manager’s at various levels overseeing the full project life cycle. Typically they operate a 20 project model with 15 currently in Construction phase and 5 In  pre construction.

The Role

M&E Pre-Construction Lead – London – Salary Between £95,000 - £110,000 + Benefits

The successful candidate will be working on quality tender returns and the setup of new projects, this position will be in the preconstruction team. Office based, the successful candidate will be responsible for looking at the buildability of new projects and ensure the deliverables of the project are setup for the handover to operations team.

The Responsibilities

• Analysis of Tender Document including architectural and M&E Drawings / Specifications
• Liaising with the Estimation team to deliver compliant tender returns
• Attend Tender Review meetings to understand what are the target projects
• Liaise with Main Contractors and consultancies to understand what is being requested or asking to be priced.
• What are the areas of risk in the install, have we allocated enough time? Are there any areas we can Better Buy / increase profit margins.
• Specifically looking at Project ‘Strategy’, ‘Buildability’ and investigate ‘Value Engineering’ solutions; produce a below the line schedule.
• Attend site visits and tender adjudication meetings prior to tenders being submitted.
• Meeting with operations team and handover to the relevant project manager.

The Ideal Candidate


• Will come from a preconstruction background and have a good grasp of M&E Services, sequencing, design and install. Looking at the detail within tenders.
• IT literate able to interpret CAD drawings, Programmes etc.
• Experience working on large/mid sized Commercial projects.
• Ideally will have experience working for contractors such as Mace, Wates and ISg
• Be within one hours commute of head office in London
