MEP Design Manager
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 Permanent London

The Client

Since their formation almost 20 years ago, my client have gone on to become one of the most reproable commercial office fit out M&E contractors in London. They have a reputation for delivering fast pace fit out projects for the likes of Collins, StructureTone, Parkeray and BW. The business has just been acquired by a new managing Director who has aspirations to increase the turnover. Following a successful first 6 months, they have been appointed on projects for Mace, Ambit and 8Build.

 

Role & Responsibilities

 

MEP Designer Manager (Mechanical Biased) - £80,000 - £95,000 + Travel + Healthcare + Pension + Bonus

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and design management of various building services projects throughout London from the values of £5m - £15m MEP value. Typically the company operates in the following sectors: Commercial Offices, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare. They are looking for someone with a mechanical bias.

  • Design complete mechanical projects
  • Delivering design and information packages meeting project programmes
  • Provide appropriate design solutions for specialist customer specific requirements
  • Liaise directly with the project manager responsible for the project
  • Attend meetings and represent the company without support
  • Manage other designers and the CAD/REVIT/BIM team.
  • The use of CAD/REVIT/BIM software
  • Ensuring design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative requirements
  • Performing engineering calculations, making reasonable assumptions to support design validity

 

The ideal candidate

  • 3 years + experience as a mechanical designer/engineer
  • Ideally have a HNC or HND and good technical knowledge of mechanical design services.
  • Experience working in the commercial sector
  • Have the right forward-thinking attitude
