The Client 

Since their formation over 50 years ago, my client has brought their vast experience and electrical engineering expertise to some of the most complex, large-scale electrical projects the UK has to offer. Typically they operate in a number of sectors including; Healthcare, Data Centres, Stadia and Commercial Offices. As a privately owned contractor, they have a bullet proof bank sheet despite the recent pandemic. Although their turnover took a slight hit, they will still be looking at turning over £30m this year.  Coming out the end of the pandemic, they are now looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to add to their work win function.

The Electrical Estimator will be client facing and take a hands on approach for all of my clients pipe line of works. They will be responsible for the management of tenders by researching and gathering all relevant information and win work for the company by completing and submitting competitive tenders.

You will be based out of their head office in Hertfordshire.

Role & Responsibilities

Electrical Estimator - £60,000 - £70,000 + Full Travel Expenses + Healthcare + Pension + Bonus

• To undertake tenders by reviewing and completing the tender forms and ensure they are within the given specifications.  Perform evaluation of the tenders and provide the pricing in a timely manner.            
• Responsible for maintaining professional working relationships with clients and sub-contractors.                        
• Obtain estimates and prices from sub-contractors and suppliers respectively.             
• Prepare and issue of tenders in line with the tender documentations provided.
• Site surveys.
• Editing design drawings.
• Follow up tenders and assist with securing projects.                            
• Provide leadership for continuously improving the process for estimating.
• To have knowledge and understanding of the health and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate

• Have 5 years’ experience as an estimator within M&E building services.
• Have good technical knowledge of Electrical building services.
• Experience working in the Shell & Core and Office Fit Out or Data centre sectors.
• Experience using Electrika estimating software.
