The company:

This client has been in operation for over 20 years and has become one of the most reputed commercial office fit-out M&E contractors in London, turning over £35m last year. They have just been acquired by a new Managing Director who has strong aspirations to increase the turnover and has made strong headway in the first 6 months, having recently been appointed to projects for major main contractors. As a result they are currently looking for a MEP CAD manager to join their London office.

Responsibilities of the role:

As the MEP CAD Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality, on-time CAD work from your division of designers and drafters. This will involve:

• Managing and coordinating all CAD-related activities and staff.
• Developing and implementing CAD standards and protocols for the department..
• Ensuring all projects are completed within set timelines.
• Train and mentor CAD staff to improve their design skills.
• Reviewing and approving all designs before they are sent to clients or production
• Coordinating with project managers and other team leaders to determine design needs.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Staying updated with latest CAD technology and industry trends.

The ideal candidate

• Will have proven work experience as an MEP CAD manager or similar role
• BSc degree in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field
• Strong knowledge and experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks etc.
• Excellent project management skills
• Good understanding of drafting techniques and engineering terminologies
• Proficient in design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
• Ability and willingness to train and mentor staff
• Excellent leadership and organisational skills
