My client is a leading Fit Out Contractor that are based in the heart of the city. Currently turning over just shy of £90M, they typically deliver a mixture of Fit Out & Cut & Carve Refurbishments up to £10M. This is mainly within the Commercial Sector but in the last couple of years, they have diversified into the Private Sector and have secured higher education and healthcare projects. This company operate a very low labour turnover rate and are organise a lot of days out for the company and their families to get involved in. As well as, offering a great work life balance.
Due to an influx of work, they are now looking to bolster their operation staff by adding a Senior Technical Services Manager to their team. They need capable guys that can take a project from inception, through to handover stage.
The Role
Leading the engineering and delivery of building services elements of a cluster of projects, ranging from fit out to structural refurbishments; the successful candidate will be responsible for taking the project from preconstruction to project handover. The role will be reporting into the divisional director.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Preconstruction – Development of Design, working closely with the estimating team on enquires to ensure quality tender return.
- Procurement – Analysis, Selection and Packaging of subcontractors.
- Leading meetings with architect, client, consultants and sub-contractors, relating to the design, commissioning and installation of the project.
- Overseeing any design changes and ensuring the completed work meets the employer’s requirements.
- Chair weekly meetings with M&E subcontractors to ensure the project is running to programme and the installation is of a high quality.
- Building control sign off and environmental testing.
The ideal Candidate:
- A minimum of 4 years working within a Building Services Engineering capacity.
- A good technical understanding with a minimum of a HNC in Building Services Engineering (or related qualification).
- Strong communication, people skills and a good attention to detail
- Thorough technical knowledge, ability to lead both mechanical and electrical services from subcontractor selection to handover.
- Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines.
