Our client is a medium sized, privately owned M&E Contractor who operate within central London and the surrounding Home counties. Coming for a refrigeration and air conditioning background, they have been established for over 10 years they benefit from a large amount of repeat business. Typically, these projects range from £200,000 to £6M in the commercial office sector. With a turnover in excess of £15M they have an established a recognized brand, their clientele includes Tier 1 Contractors such as BW, Parkeray, Mace Interiors. They are looking to take on a Mechanical Estimator to boulster their work win function.
Working closely with the Head of Estimating, the Estimator will be responsible for the management of tenders by researching and gathering all relevant information and win work for the Company by completing and submitting competitive tenders.
Role/Responsibilities:
- To undertake Mechanical tenders by reviewing and completing the tender forms and ensure they are within the given specifications. Perform evaluation of the tenders and provide the pricing in a timely manner.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining professional working relationships with clients and sub-contractors.
- Obtain estimates and prices from sub-contractors and suppliers respectively.
- Prepare and issue of tenders in line with the tender documentations provided.
- When required getting involved with site surveys.
- When required getting involved with design after the training period, particularly design and build projects which we frequently encounter.
- Follow up tenders and assist with securing projects.
- Work with your immediate manager to continuously improve the process for estimating.
- To have knowledge and understanding of the health and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate:
- Have 2-5 years’ experience as an estimator within M&E building services.
- Have good technical knowledge of mechanical services.
- Experience working in the commercial sector.
