Salary: £ 30,000-60,000 Permanent Hertfordshire

My client is a medium sized, privately owned M&E Contractor who have been successfully operating within London for over 50 years. With a real family feel to the business, the owners still operate out of the head office. They pride themselves on delivering a quality install and therefore almost all of their turnover comes off the back of repeat business with some of the capitals top principle contractors. Following a sustained period of growth after the pandemic and a strong start to 2022, the company are now looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to bolster their design function.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and design management of various building services projects throughout London from the values of £500K - £10m MEP value. Typically the company operates in the following sectors: Commercial Offices, Residential and Healthcare.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design complete mechanical projects
  • Delivering design and information packages meeting project programmes
  • Provide appropriate design solutions for specialist customer specific requirements
  • Liaise directly with the project manager responsible for the project
  • Attend meetings and represent the company without support
  • Work alone as well as with other designers and the CAD/REVIT/BIM team.
  • The use of CAD/REVIT/BIM software
  • Ensuring design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative requirements
  • Performing engineering calculations, making reasonable assumptions to support design validity

The Ideal Candidate

  • 3 years + experience as a mechanical designer/engineer
  • Ideally have a HNC or HND and good technical knowledge of mechanical design services.
  • Experience working in the commercial sector
  • Have the right forward-thinking attitude
