Electrical Project Manager – Salary up to £70,000 + Car Allowance + Pension + Healthcare + Discretionary Bonus
CLIENT:
Working throughout several sectors including commercial, residential, education, the business has seen a significant amount of growth in the last 12 months. With a traditional engineering mindset and reinvestment into new principals, the business expects 2022 to be a similar period of growth. They have recently secured several major schemes including one in the heart of the west end.
PROJECT:
Working closely with a renowned main contractor our client has successfully negotiated a large commercial office refurbishment, consisting of the strip out to the shell and core and then a full fit out to CAT B spec. This starts towards the end of Q2 and will run for over 12 months. As a result, the business is seeking to expand their operations team.
Role:
Based in London the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a £2-7M package within their discipline; depending on size and complexity. Reporting to a project director the position will be supported by a team of engineers and supervisors. Projects range from commercial offices, higher education, healthcare and residential developments. You will be expected to take the project from pre-construction through to handover. Relationship management, team coordination and project reporting are key to this position.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Tender review/validation
- Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
- Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
- Technical submittals
- RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
- Value Engineering where applicable
- Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
- Health & Safety management (RAMs)
- Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub-contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey.
- Management of variations
- Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
- Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
- Overseeing commissioning stages
- Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover
The ideal candidate:
- Will be familiar working in a fast pace environment
- Experience managing projects to a minimum of £2M within your own discipline
- A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
- Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as ISg, Lend Lease, Sir Robert McAlpine and Mace.
- The candidate will show longevity in previous employment
