The Cilent
I am currently working with a well-respected and progressive fit out contractor who have been established for over 12 years. They started life as a carpentry sub-contractor, and whilst retaining their sub-contracting arm have progressed into principal contracting. They operate nationally with three other offices around the country and I am currently working with their London division who are located a stones throw from London Bridge.
They are a financially secure business with a strong order book for 2022 going into 2023, last year they turned over circa. £68m and are projecting to bring in circa. £82m this year. They are a financially secure and progressive business who have a very low churn rate in staff and pride themselves in investing in their staff, no matter what level and offering everyone the chance to develop and progress their career.
Their reputation and business model acts as a successful tool to draw excellent talent within the fit-out market with a key focus not only being their experience, but individual personality. A potential candidate could have excellent experience working for their competitors but if they do not come across well and demonstrate an engaging and likeable personality they will not be considered
London Division
The London division’s project portfolio is a split between tendered and negotiated work, secured by various long-term relationships within the market place. Projects range in contract value from £150,000 to £3m with the bulk of their work comprising of end user CAT B fit out, landlord CAT A and refurbishments whilst also having completed high end retail, bar and restaurant fit outs as well. The London division turned over approx. £7m last year and its conservative forecast is to do circa £10m - £11m this financial year.
The Role
I am seeking a contracts manager who will form a fundamental and prominent part of the London business unit with the senior directorship seeking to support, empower and build a team around the successful candidate. This individual will pick up their projects from the very start of their lifecycle and will take them through tender/ procurement, pre-cosntruction whilst delivering multiple projects through to pc and final account. They will have a strong input on various matters concerning the division with the opportunity to progress into operations management and divisional lead in the future. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a contractor with a reputation and track record for.
Candidate location: The successful candidate will be required to work in London 3 days a week (more if wanted) either on site or in the office. The remaining 2 days can be spent working from home.
